At Mire Branch Water Corporation, our goal is to provide safe, clean water to all of our residents.
The Mire Branch Water Corporation began as an idea by local residents of the Mire Community in 1979. In November of 1987, the corporation began operating with a total of 613 customers and 46 miles of water lines. Funding for the system was made possible through a note from Rural Development.
By 2015, eight more phases were completed to keep up with the growing demands of the community, and additional developments were made to improve overall water service to the area. Phase nine, completed in 2015, included construction of a new office building, the addition of automatic read meters throughout the system, and several line extensions.
Today, the Mire Branch Water Corporation provides quality drinking water to over 3,000 customers. During peak months, our facility pumps over 16 million gallons of water per month.
